A risk assessments for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers would be extensive. There is also the matter of the taxis that congregate to drop off and collect from Northern House School. The various entrances into St Edward's School and its maintenance yard present further hazards. There are four turnings off and into South Parade, before the staggered junction with Stratfield Road and Middle Way. Cars turn in fast from the Banbury Road expecting a one-way street. It is a difficult road on which to have a cycle contraflow. This obviously has implications for any business which relies on customers being able to park outside or has deliveries by van or lorry. Oxfordshire County Council has launched a consultation on a proposal to replace the single yellow lines on South Parade with double yellow lines, and to allow two-way cycling along the whole length of the road in a demarcated contraflow cycle lane on the north side.
